Zuckerman Scholars in Israel enjoyed a special event that brought together all program participants in a social setting and fostered esprit de corps among the group. The afternoon began with welcoming remarks from Zuckerman Institute in Israel Executive Director Lina Deshilton, and continued with a high-level overview of the Israeli tech ecosystem at Start-Up Nation Central.
Uri Gabai, VP of Strategy for Start-Up Nation Central, presented an inside look at how entrepreneurs, industry and academia work together to create Israel’s most innovative solutions.
The group also enjoyed an enlightening presentation and briefing on issues concerning Americans living in Israel from Terry Davidson, Counselor for Public Affairs at the US Embassy in Israel, and Jessica Kuntz, Vice Consul of American Citizen Services at the US Embassy.
The program continued with a private tour of the The Peres Center for Peace & Innovation in Jaffa, where the scholars learned the incredible story of the “innovation nation” and heard about the diverse fields and people behind Israeli innovation.
