Female candidates accepted to postdoctoral programs in the United States or Canada will be eligible for scholarship from the institution, or any other postdoctoral scholarship, for postdoctoral research programs of not less than two years.
Candidates must have a PhD or be expected to receive their PhD no later than one year after graduation. At the start of their studies, no more than four years shall pass from the date of obtaining their PhD.
The program is open to new female postdocs who begin a program in the academic year after receiving their scholarship.
The postdoctoral program will focus on research activities in the candidate’s scientific field.
The candidate will devote herself to the academic activities of the program on a full time basis.
The submitting institution will receive, and forward to CHE, a declaration from the candidate certifying that prior to completing her study abroad, she will apply for a faculty position with academic institutions in Israel. The candidate should state her intention to join the faculty under appropriate conditions. Should the candidate decide not to return to an Israeli institution even under appropriate conditions, she will be required to return the scholarship.
Candidates who were previously nominated as senior academic staff members will not be eligible to apply.
Candidates must hold Israeli citizenship, or be eligible to receive Israeli citizenship or permanent residency status, within twelve months of the start of their position at the overseas institution.
